From November 5 to 10, 2019, the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. As one of the major purchasers from Shanghai, Shanghai Electric signed more than 10 import contracts or framework agreements with a number of world-renowned foreign companies during the Expo. The total value of the imports is estimated to be RMB 1.93 billion.
As a grand international gathering that seeks to "buy from and benefit the world", CIIE has offered Shanghai Electric a great opportunity to interact and collaborate with the global market. It was in the first half of the year that Shanghai Electric had started planning for its branches for their visits to and purchases from this year's CIIE, along with overall arrangements on buyer registration, on-site purchases, and statistics on the purchases after the event.
During the event, Shanghai Electric also held further discussions with exhibitors and contractors about opportunities to do business together and new paths to industrial cooperation. The aim was to build a long-standing international cooperation mechanism that can be made full use of by Shanghai Electric.
