On April 6 (local time), Shanghai Electric delivered personal protective equipment, grain and cooking oil to Mithi, home to the Pakistan Thar Project. The donation is to help local communities fight the epidemic and feed poverty-stricken villagers.
With the spread of the coronavirus worldwide, overseas countries are at a critical moment for epidemic control. At the news that Pakistan is seeing more confirmed cases, Sino Sindh Resources (Pvt.) Ltd. (Sino Sindh), an overseas subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, has quickly collected critically needed supplies including N95 masks, grain, and cooking oil, and donated them to local hospitals and villages, to relieve the pressure on local governments. The donated supplies are labeled with an English slogan "Together We Will Fight This" and a Chinese one "We Are All Brothers and Sisters, And Hope Will Come to Us", showing our concern and care for overseas friends.
At the donation site, a local officer, on behalf of the Mithi government and Thar residents, praised and expressed gratitude to Shanghai Electric for its timely assistance. The donation was reported by several local media.
The first two batches of supplies have been delivered, and the third will be ready for transportation in early next month. By undertaking the Thar Block-1 Integrated Coal Mine-Power Project, Shanghai Electric not only creates jobs for local people, but also acts as a responsible player to tide over the crisis with local communities. It embodies the great friendship between the two countries.
