China Electricity Council (CEC) published on May 13 the energy efficiency benchmarking results of thermal power units in 2018, and all five AAAAA-rated 1000 MW ultra-supercritical units adopted turbines and generators from Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group.
This was a comprehensive benchmarking process evaluating an array of indicators in reliability, economic efficiency, technical supervision, and environmental friendliness. Our turbines and equipment were found among most superior 1000 MW, 600 MW, and 300 MW thermal power units of 2018. All five AAAAA-rated 1000 MW ultra-supercritical units adopted turbines and generators from Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group. Two double re-heating units from State Power Taizhou using set equipment from Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group ranked 1st and 2nd in AAAAA rating. Out of ten AAAAA- and AAAA-rated 600 MW ultra-supercritical wet cooling units, seven adopted turbines and generators and four adopted boilers from Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group.
The energy efficiency benchmarking results by CEC served as solid evidence that Shanghai Electric units lead in the market, and further recognized the path of technology-driven development. As for its traditional strength coal-fired power, Shanghai Electric will continue to optimize its product portfolio in a systematic, modular, and standard manner. At the same time, it will work to reduce cost and increase efficiency in a bid to provide users with high-performing products and services that are reliable, easy to operate and maintain, and can yield benefits throughout the life cycle. It will also carry out demonstration projects and maintain close cooperation with users to generate more economic and social benefits for enterprises. As a result, Shanghai Electric will build up an influential brand in the industry.
