The 2019 Shanghai Top 100 Enterprise List was released on the afternoon of August 19. Shanghai Electric ranked 17th on the list, three places up compared with last year. On the Shanghai Top 100 Manufacturer List released along with the general list, Shanghai Electric ranked 7th, one place up compared with last year.
The candidates were selected on the basis of their annual revenue in 2018. As revealed from the list, Shanghai Electric generated RMB 114.52 billion of revenue in 2018 and 13.42% higher profits compared with the previous year, while hitting a record high for all the performance indicators. These outstanding results can be a powerful driver to enhance Shanghai Electric's value proposition and brand presence.
The appraisal and selection work was jointly undertaken by Shanghai Enterprise Confederation, Shanghai Entrepreneur Directors Association, Shanghai Federation of Economic Organizations, and Liberation Daily. On this year's list, a record high of 21 enterprises crossed the RMB 100 billion mark on annual revenue. A minimum annual revenue of RMB 5.96 billion was required to make the final cut, up from RMB 4.99 billion last year.
